Big apple snails are $2.99 each plus shipping.
These are large (~racquetball-size) freshwater snails that are great for ponds and aquaria and won’t overpopulate like many other species. They are blackish-brown when smaller, then mature to an amber color when large. To breed, these large snails ascend weeds, stumps, and other emergent substrate and deposit a large pinkish-orange cluster of eggs, sometimes several feet above the water surface. In general, it is not legal to import these snails without a permit, in most states. USDA permits are given for research, education, and scientific purposes.
